Ninety minutes · Silicon Valley or on video

Ninety minutes on the one thing you can’t get past.

You bring that one thing. Ninety minutes on it with Wei Houng, who has spent over thirty years on why people get stuck. You leave with the recording of the session, and a short plan you tap to replay any moment of it.

$1,500 Session Recording and Integration Action Plan included

If the session wasn’t worth it, you get the $1,500 back. Thirty days, no reason needed.

See the open times →

You pick a time, answer three short questions about what you’re stuck on, and pay on that screen. You have thirty days from the day your plan arrives to ask for the money back.

This is for one specific thing

A problem you keep coming back to. For months, or years.

You’ve already tried the obvious moves and some of the clever ones. The people around you can’t quite see it, and it hasn’t shifted no matter how you come at it.

“I’ve been stuck on the same thing for months and I’ve tried everything.”

If that sentence is close to the one in your head, this is the page for you.

It might be a hire you keep postponing, a conversation you’ve rehearsed for a year and never had, or a part of the business you keep rebuilding every eighteen months. If you can say what it is in one sentence and it still hasn’t moved, it belongs here.

This is mostly for founders and people running something, and the thing you’re stuck on doesn’t have to be a work thing.

Often the thing you can describe is only the top of it. Underneath is a strategy, a habit you picked up a long time ago because it protected you then, and some part of you still believes you need it to stay safe.

Plenty of the people who book this are doing well by every measure other people can see. Revenue, headcount, the house, the title. Money rich, happiness poor. And underneath all of it, a private question that doesn’t go away no matter how good the numbers get.

“I built exactly what I thought I wanted, and now I don’t want it.”

So the ninety minutes goes as far into what’s underneath as ninety minutes can. Why the call keeps not getting made, what overrides it every time, and which of the things you’re working toward you actually chose.

If you already know what you want to happen and still haven’t done it, that’s a block. If you can’t tell what you want, that’s a decision, and better thinking will move it.

A hard decision is a different problem, and it takes a different kind of help. A decision responds to better thinking. A block doesn’t respond to better thinking. And that’s why yours is still there after everything you’ve tried.

Months is enough. If it’s been years, that isn’t a mark against you, and it isn’t a sign you were slow. Either way, a thing that outlasts everything you’ve thrown at it is a block, and that’s what the ninety minutes is built for.

What actually happens

The session opens on your problem

You send three answers before you come. Wei reads them beforehand, so the ninety minutes starts where it should.

Then ninety minutes on the one thing. No curriculum and no slides. Most of the time goes to the way you’ve been explaining this problem to yourself, because that explanation is usually where the block is sitting.

Most of the session is you talking. Wei asks about the places where your version of the story doesn’t add up. He’s read your answers. But he doesn’t come in with a script. What happens comes from what you say once you’re talking.

One of the things people bring most often is a hire they haven’t made. They’ve known for a year that the job needs to go to someone else. Every time it comes up, the sentence is a version of the same one: this person does eighty percent of what I can do, and I can do a hundred.

Wei doesn’t argue with the sentence. He points out that it never changes, and that it always comes with the same second half, some form of but I hate doing it. Both halves have been sitting in one sentence the whole time. Hearing them next to each other is usually where the block starts to move.

Wei goes as far as he can in ninety minutes. What a single session doesn’t have is a next session already booked. If what you brought turns out to need more than ninety minutes, he’ll let you know, and that’s what the ninety-day program is for. It’s on its own page.

What you leave with

The audio, plus a plan you can tap to replay it

You won’t remember most of what was said. By the end of the week the exact words are gone.

So you get the audio, and you get an Integration Action Plan: a short page you open on your phone or laptop. It marks the moments that mattered, in your own words. Each one is a button. Tap it and the recording plays from that second.

The sentence you kept coming back to. 00:34:12
The thing you said you had already ruled out. 01:02:47
What you said when you were asked why it still mattered. 01:19:10

Your plan carries what you actually said, and each marker plays that part of the recording.

So in six weeks you open the plan, tap the moment you need, and hear that part of the session again.

Who you would be sitting with

Wei Houng, outdoors, smiling.

An engineer who never worked as one

You’d be sitting with someone who started coaching over thirty years ago, and has worked with leaders from some of the largest companies in the world down to people bootstrapping out of a spare room. He puts the number of people he’s worked with in the thousands.

Mostly founders and people running companies. Also professional athletes, first responders, veterans, celebrities, and executives inside very large organizations. The same problem shows up the same way in every one of those rooms.

He studied computer science engineering at UCLA and then never worked a day as an engineer, at least not in the traditional sense. What he kept was the engineer’s discipline: find the one thing that’s actually causing the failure, change that one thing, and watch what happens. Applied to a person instead of a machine, that’s most of what happens in the ninety minutes. It’s also why the difference between a block and a decision matters so much to him. Those are two different kinds of failure, and they don’t get fixed by the same thing.

What he did instead was a long run of jobs that were all, underneath, about people: IT, mortgages, digital marketing, sales and marketing, personal training, and general manager of several restaurants, where he built the training programs. Four of those happened inside a single decade, and one client followed him through all four. Until the pandemic he also ran a seminar company with two flagship events a year.

He has trained in more ways of helping people change than what can reasonably fit on a page, and all of it comes out of one obsession: understanding the human condition, and what it takes for a person to change, for the better. Hypnotherapy, which in his sessions is an ordinary conversation, and you’re awake and aware the whole time. Neuro-linguistic programming, which he teaches at the trainer level. Reading faces and body language. Years of hands-on work as a personal trainer, and a long list past that. And HumanOp’s own: he is a CTHO, a Certified Technologist of Human Optimization, the certification HumanOp built for reading a person’s nature. Out of all of it he built his own method for letting go of old emotions, the Emotional Release Protocol. His clients and students shortened it to the ER Protocol, because it works fast enough that they use it in emergencies, to defuse a charged moment before it takes over. He stopped using any of it separately a long time ago. In a session it’s one conversation.

“What I actually love is this: someone brings me what they’re stuck on and we break it open.”

What happens next

You pick one of the open times, answer the three questions on that screen, and pay there. Wei reads your answers before you arrive.

You don’t need to email us first. The calendar is here, and it’s the same link we would send you.

What we promise

  • Wei reads your three answers before you arrive, so the ninety minutes starts on the problem.
  • The full ninety minutes is yours. Nothing is sold to you inside it.
  • Your Session Recording and Integration Action Plan arrive within three business days of the session.

If any of those three things doesn’t happen, tell us and we refund the full amount.

And what you say stays between you and Wei. Only Wei ever hears the recording. It lives on his own computer, and the transcript and your plan are made there, so nothing you say is sent to any outside service. If your situation needs a non-disclosure agreement, an NDA, say so and we’ll send a mutual one before you book.

And if it simply was not worth it

Your Session Recording and Integration Action Plan arrive within three business days of the session, and the thirty days starts then. It does not start on the day you pay.

Tell us within thirty days of the day they arrive and we return the full amount. You do not need to give a reason and we will not ask for one. One email to [email protected] is the whole process.

We reply by the end of the next business day and start the refund to your original card at the same time. It usually appears on your statement within five to ten business days.

What you keep either way: the Session Recording, the transcript and the Integration Action Plan are yours. If you would rather we deleted our copies, say so in the same email and we will confirm within seven days.

What this isn’t

Four things it would be easy to assume

It isn’t therapy and it isn’t crisis support. If you’re in acute distress, or carrying something that needs clinical care, this isn’t the right kind of help. Let us know, and we’ll help point you to the right resource and refund you.

Who this doesn’t work for

This doesn’t work if you haven’t tried yet

One rule, and it saves us both the ninety minutes. If you haven’t tried anything yet, you’re undecided, and that’s a different and much easier problem. Come back when you’ve tried hard to change it and it still hasn’t changed.

Before you come

Three questions you answer when you book

  1. What is the thing you’re stuck on?
  2. How long has it been true?
  3. What have you already tried?

Wei reads all three before you meet, so the ninety minutes starts where it should.

Where it happens

On video, or in person if that matters to you

Most sessions are on video, and nothing about the ninety minutes changes when they are. Same length, same three questions, same recording, same plan, same price.

If being in the same physical space matters to you, write to [email protected] and we’ll arrange it. Wei is in the Bay Area. We can book somewhere private, or he can come to you.

One requirement, wherever it happens

You need a room with a door that closes, and nobody who works for you on the other side of it. Ninety minutes of this only works if you can say the thing you haven’t said out loud yet, and you can’t do that with your team walking past. If your own office can’t give you that, tell us and we’ll find somewhere that can.

Four sessions a week, and nothing is bookable inside 48 hours, because Wei reads your answers first.

Questions

The things people ask

The session itself

What if I can’t tell what the one thing is?

Write down all of them. Working out which one is causing the others is often the first thing Wei does.

Do I need to have taken the Nature Map, HumanOp’s free assessment?

No. It’s a free fifteen-minute assessment of how you’re built to operate. It helps, and it isn’t required. Take it here.

Can I bring my co-founder or partner?

Yes. Same session, same price.

What if I need more than one?

Book another. There’s no package and no commitment either way. If what you brought turns out to need more than ninety minutes, Wei will let you know. The ninety-day program is on its own page, it’s $30,000, and the $1,500 you paid here comes off it.

Privacy and the recording

Is it recorded, and who hears it?

Yes, audio, and Wei asks you at the start so your consent is on tape. Only Wei ever hears the recording.

Nothing you say is sent to anybody. The recording is transcribed on our own equipment, and the plan is written with the help of an open source AI model running on that same machine. No third party service touches the audio or the transcript, so there’s no vendor holding a copy of it.

You can decline the recording and still have the session.

Do you sign NDAs?

If your situation needs one, say so and we’ll send a mutual NDA before you book. Most people don’t ask, and nothing about the session changes either way. We treat it as confidential either way, wherever the session happens.

Paying and scheduling

How and when do I pay?

On the booking page. You pick your time, answer the three questions, and pay on that same screen.

What if I need to move it, or cancel?

Tell us any time before your slot and we’ll move you to the next one that works. No fee and no cut-off. You’ve already paid, so it’s only a change of date.

If you’d rather cancel altogether, say so and we return the full amount. If we ever have to cancel on you, the same applies and you get first pick of the next open slot.

Can I pay through my company, and do you invoice?

Yes. Say so in an email to [email protected] and we’ll send an invoice and a receipt with whatever billing details you need.

I’m not in Pacific time. Does that work?

Wei is on Pacific time and the open slots follow it. If none of them work, write to [email protected] and we’ll find one that does. So far we’ve found a time for people in most time zones.

How soon can I come?

Usually the following week. There are four slots a week and nothing is bookable inside 48 hours, so it depends on which of the four is still open.

What if it isn’t useful?

Email [email protected] within thirty days of the day your Session Recording and Integration Action Plan arrive, and we return the full amount. We won’t ask why.

You already know which thing this is about.

Ninety minutes on that one thing

Pick one of the open times. The three questions are on the booking page, and Wei reads your answers before you arrive.

If somebody sent you here, tell us who so we can thank them.
